Welcome!

Chapter 42 of my life has taken some strange twists and turns that were quite unexpected in chapter 41. While the chapter began with me selling ground preparation equipment at ABI, about 1/3 of the way through, the setting has changed to a lobby office at a car dealership. The detail guy has done his part in making the cars on the lot promote themselves with sparkle but I still find myself patiently waiting for the next customer to drive through and to have their eye caught by their next transportation option. I definitely need to find something else to preoccupy the waiting.

Last night I made a list of what I could do that wouldn't distract me from my job yet keep me from resorting to counting the number of tiles in the lobby area (again) to pacify my boredom. I decided that a blog might be a good use of creative energies and I still look busy if someone doesn't look too closely.

To name the blog, I started thinking about the different areas of my life. Nothing really stood out solely on it's creative merit. I'm a dad, husband, salesperson, youth leader...but I am also a harmonica player. Bingo- Just Harpin' came to mind. For you harmonica rookies, they are often called mouth harps. So with a little play on words, I christen this blog, Just Harpin'.
